Sutter Health Makes Self-Scheduling Their Specialty

To make high-quality care as convenient as possible, Sutter Health is making self-scheduling, fast pass, and self check-in available to patients in MyChart.

Sutter believed that the success and popularity of convenient, at-home online scheduling for PCP visits could be replicated for less routine specialty visits, improving care and saving money. To test the theory, Sutter piloted specialty self-scheduling in their GI department.

Based on the success of that pilot, Sutter has put self-scheduling in place for 12 additional specialties. In the last two years, these more convenient scheduling options for specialties and Sutter’s other scheduling initiatives have helped Sutter Health see a 70% increase in appointments booked online.
