Northwestern Medicine Takes Aim at Medical Errors with New Healthcare Curriculum

Healthcare quality and patient safety are the focus of a new PhD track offered at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. With an emphasis on using health information technology to reduce systemic errors and disparities in care, Northwestern’s new program aims to give students the skills and knowledge to reduce the third leading cause of death in the United States: medical errors. Northwestern Medicine and other Epic community members are already reducing errors and improving quality with Clinical Programs, which help organizations replicate their peers’ clinical quality successes.
