Main Line Health’s Epic implementation is core to the largest organizational transformation in their history. They will integrate their hospitals, outpatient centers, more than 2000 medical staff, and revenue cycle onto a single Epic platform, replacing legacy systems Cerner Siemens and Next Gen, among others.

“The transition to Epic will be more than a replacement of our IT systems,” said Jack Lynch, Main Line Health president and CEO. “With the support of the entire Main Line Health team, this will be an organizational transformation to poise our health system for a new era in health care. These innovative capabilities will further enhance our ability to serve as a leader of care delivery in our region.”

Lynch said he believes Epic will help Main Line Health:

  • Develop a personalized and streamlined patient experience by providing an intuitive, robust patient portal and centralized communication with care providers.
  • Empower patients to partner with providers in their health and wellness.
Integrate clinical information, patient registration, patient scheduling, and billing across healthcare settings.
  • Improve usability with efficient functionality.
  • Remain on the cutting-edge of health care with superior tools to deliver exceptional care.

“This is a historic project to position Main Line Health for a bright future in our dynamic landscape, and we are excited to have a highly engaged and talented team on board to ensure our success,” said Donna Phillips, president of Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital and executive sponsor of the Epic implementation. “This is a tremendously exciting time for Main Line Health.”

The big bang launch of Epic clinical and financial applications across Main Line Health’s acute care and specialty hospitals is scheduled for early 2018, with later launches planned for Main Line Health’s remaining locations.
