Coloring Outside the Lines: Epic Welcomes Manabu Ikeda
January 20, 2020
Fresh perspectives inspire everyone on campus

Anyone who has visited Epic knows there’s no shortage of artwork, but now visitors and staff members also have the chance to see a work of art in the making. After wrapping up a residency at Madison’s Chazen Museum of Art, celebrated artist Manabu Ikeda decided to establish a temporary studio on Epic’s Learning Campus to work on his latest piece. Every Friday, visitors can stop by to see the progress on his current project and chat with the artist himself.
Ikeda creates intricately detailed, large-scale drawings in pen and ink, and each piece can take years to complete. Watch Ikeda’s interview with Wisconsin Life and see more of his work at My Modern Met.
