Convenient care for patients on a common platform facilitates cooperation with others in the healthcare community
Walgreens Healthcare Clinic and CVS Minute Clinic are Epic Community members and cover 80% of the retail clinics across the country. They provide convenient hours and locations for common ailments and are typically less expensive for patients and insurance companies. The patients’ information follows them to their primary care provider via Care Everywhere interoperability.
Other Epic Community Members are building collaborations and joint chronic disease programs. Cleveland Clinic, for example, is partnering with CVS MinuteClinic in Ohio to provide mobile and online access to a specialist from Cleveland Clinic if they need to be pulled in during the consult with the nurse practitioner.
