Epic Sponsors Cutting-Edge Linguistics Research

Verona, WI — Epic’s Cogito ergo sum Enterprise Intelligence Suite (Cogito for short) got a big show of support from the company today, with officials announcing that they would fund a grant for multiple teams to research exactly how to pronounce its name. The famous philosophy penned by Descartes in Latin in 1644 translates to “I think, therefore I am.”

Since its introduction, Cogito has been greeted with enthusiasm for its benefits to health systems and confusion for its name. “Even within the Analytics team here, there are factions,” said Senior Software Developer A.P. Rillfoughls. “You’ve got your coo-kie-dough, your ko-JEE-toe, and then there’s the rhymes-with-Mojito crowd. I think we know what’s on their mind, right?”

The grant, which will fund research teams at Cambridge, Stanford, and a travelling Duke contingent to Latin America, aims to settle the question once and for all. When asked whether the company will also pursue research into the validity of the philosophy itself, Rillfoughls placed his elbow on his knee, and his fist on his chin.
